inababycarriage™ was "born" in 2002 by a newlywed with babies on her mind. That's me - Amber; although I'm no longer a newlywed, but did cross over into motherhood with the birth of my baby girl, Gabrielle, in July, 2004. When I started inababycarriage™.com, it was out of the need for some different and unique birth announcement designs, and thus, I created the Photo Birth Announcement. inababycarriage™ is the first online company to offer a birth announcement in this style (well, as far as we could find back in 2002 with a lot of research). Over the last 3 years, I've found more and more ways to improve not only the product, but also the process, and to add many more one-of-a-kind designs that were first found only at inababycarriage™, and are now offered through an exclusive relationship with PhotoAffections.com. I know how fun it is to take pictures, especially with an adorable little baby as the subject, which is why many of my designs feature multiple photos, while others focus on that one great shot of your little one. What I set out to do is to come up with designs that complement all these great baby faces, wedding and engagement images, and family pictures for your holiday cards. Creating the designs is a fun process, and one that is ongoing as there is always a need for more and more fresh designs.

My background: I received my B.A. in Graphic Design from California State University, Sacramento in 1996. My first job out of college was at a computer magazine, which I left after 3 years to move down to Sunny Southern California. I stuck with magazine design for another year until I made the transition over to web design where I found my real love for design. I was a ".com" web designer for 3 years when I decided to venture out on my own to start my first business, thencomesmarriage.com. It was an inevitable transition to move over to the baby side once the wedding days were farther and farther behind me. My main purpose in starting my home-based business was so that when the time came for my husband and I to start our family, I would be able to work from home and spend time with the kids. So far, so good.... |
