Melanie Severin is the creative virtuoso behind Little Star Greetings, a boutique Canadian design firm specializing in stylish modern stationery.
Melanie's journey into the world of graphic arts has been anything but conventional – graduating with a Law Degree from the University of Alberta in 2001, her sights were set on a very different career path. At the same time, she and husband David were starting a young family and welcomed their first two children into the world, a son in 2003 and a daughter in 2005. While on maternity leave from her law practise in 2005, Melanie revived a passion for art and illustration that she had had since she was a young girl, and began designing photo cards and other social stationery for family and friends as a hobby. It was a natural progression for that hobby to evolve into a new career path, and in 2006 Little Star Greetings was introduced to the Canadian stationery market with immediate success. When asked about her transition from lawyer to designer, Melanie says that “stationery design offered a creative outlet that had been missing from my law career, and it also allowed me to work from home with my beautiful young children. It fulfils me on so many more levels.”
With the birth of another daughter in 2008, Melanie and David's family has grown and so has Melanie's following of devoted clients. Her designs are a unique blend of elegant and whimsical, modern and timeless. In addition to its other products, including eco-friendly wedding invitations, Little Star Greetings designs a fabulous photo card line which is offered exclusively in the US by PhotoAffections. |

began her design journey 5 years ago after graduating with a nursing degree. With a husband who traveled, and with 2 young children, finding a nursing job proved to be difficult; she soon realized that her heart just wasn't in it. Playing around on an older version of a photo editing program, it soon became love at first pixel and Heather had her first of many a-ha! moments.
Investing in professional photo editing software, and armed with eager ambitions, Heather found her niche in the photo card industry, where she successfully owned a photo card business for almost 5 years. With her understated style - whimsy blended with "cuteness" and with an added touch "loveliness," she garnered a following of 1000's of satisfied and discerning customers. Taking what she has learned and perfected over the years, she is now branching out on a different journey - one filled with polka dots preferably.
Heather now resides in Burns, TN, with her still-traveling husband and 2 not-so-young-anymore children. In addition to designing an exclusive line for Photo Affections, she is also the creative genius behind Oh, How Lovely. Heather says, 'Creating and designing is as defining to me as my kids are. I am so lucky to be a part of this profession, and, with this creative outlet, I am able to live my dream everyday. |

Creative at an early age, Kerry is truly passionate about graphic design. Receiving a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art from the San Francisco Art Institute, Kerry realized her love of graphic arts after designing her own wedding invitations. Being a natural do-it-yourselfer, she had so much fun picking out papers, colors and fonts, she caught the bug, and in 2004, decided to hone her talent and pursue a career in professional design under the name Paper Dahlia. In addition to her experience crafting other types of traditional announcements, invitations, and other printed materials, Kerry creates an exclusive line of specialty photo cards and photo announcements for PhotoAffections.com.
Each day, Kerry looks forward to creating something that each customer will be excited about, designing cards which allow each person to express their individual style. In her perpetual search for inspiration, she admits her passions run deep; Kerry says, "I literally get butterflies in my stomach when I see a fresh color combination; and I even have more fun shopping for fonts than new shoes!" As shown in her work and use of color and texture, her favorite styles have a vintage feel, while also incorporating the modern elements that are most popular today.
Kerry is also passionate about fashion, photography, flea markets and... chocolate! Residing in San Francisco, she shares a lovely flat with her wonderful husband, their beautiful and energetic daughter, and "one lazy Pug."

is based in Manhattan - an illustrator and designer with a strong affinity for all things retro. Raised in both Austin, Texas and New York City by highly creative art director parents, she has been surrounded by design and digital art nearly all her life.
Though one of her degrees from the University of Texas at Austin is in fashion design, Lauren says her passion has always been illustration and graphic design. After an extremely rewarding experience working for the Austin art brand, Sugarluxe, she moved to New York full time to hone her skills as a designer. She says that the frenetic energy, abundant art deco architecture, and enriching culture of the city are a constant inspiration to her.
Aiming to present elegant, modern work that carries vintage inspiration, she is drawn to flat, bold colors, geometric shapes, and clean simplicity. Lauren says, "When not glued to my computer I can be found swing dancing all over the city, supporting local musicians, seeking out classic movie screenings, or working on my own line of digital pin up art." |
